Accomplished singer Deborah Caddy presents a rare insight into the loves of Olivia Newton-John’s life in Glamour & Song this Cabaret Fringe.

Told through the trauma and triumphs of ONJ’s best friend for life, Pat Carroll, Deborah Caddy will take audiences on a nostalgic journey set to a soundtrack of pop hits written by Pat’s husband John Farrar.

The trio made magic together, and while Olivia hit the dizzying heights of stardom and Deborah was a doting wife and mother, the love between them stayed strong until the end.

“Olivia Newton-John and John Farrar all met as teenagers on The Go Show!! in 1960’s Melbourne,” Deborah Caddy says. “As their lives unfolded, John gave Olivia his music, but he gave Pat his heart.”

A charming show that champions women supporting women, Glamour & Song: The Songs of Pat Carroll & Olivia Newton-John follows Pat and Olivia from when they met at dance class at 15 to their singing duo in London in the swinging 60s, right through six decades of unconditional friendship.

“I grew up wanting to be Olivia Newton-John. My childhood was spent singing to her records – hairbrush firmly in hand. I know I’m not alone in this,” says Deborah.”It was almost impossible to choose the songs for the show because there are so many great tunes, so I have included as many as possible!”

Deborah has spent the past few years touring overseas in The Phantom of the Opera, so she is excited to be back in Adelaide, working in the more intimate cabaret space of Nexus Arts for Cabaret Fringe for one show only.
